MEP 2040 Commitment

As a premier provider of advanced HVAC solutions from the industry’s top manufacturers, we are committed to advancing the vision of a net-zero future. Positioned at the crucial intersection of innovation and design, we bridge the gap between our manufacturing partners and the MEP design community. Through collaboration, we aim to drive advancements in Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and promote the adoption of low-GWP refrigerants, contributing to a more sustainable and environmentally responsible future. That is why we are proud supporters of Carbon Leadership Forum’s MEP 2040 Commitment whose goal it is to address operational and Embodied Carbon in MEP design.

The MEP 2040 team, comprised of systems engineers and designers focused on Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems, aims to drastically reduce embodied carbon in their projects and products by 2040. This independent initiative, led by the MEP 2040 Steering Committee, seeks to dramatically reduce the embodied carbon emissions associated with MEP systems. Embodied carbon is a critical consideration for MEP, as buildings generate the most global carbon emissions annually. While energy use contributes to around 30% of annual global greenhouse gas emissions, embodied carbon accounts for approximately 10%. Mechanical equipment, delivery, refrigerants, and refrigerant leaks are often overlooked in life cycle analysis studies, highlighting the need for action.

The Carbon Leadership Forum pioneers research, creates resources, fosters cross-collaboration, and incubates member-led initiatives to reduce the embodied carbon in building materials and construction through collective action. At the heart of the initiative are architects, engineers, contractors, material suppliers, building owners, and policymakers who are committed to decarbonizing the built environment and eliminating embodied carbon from buildings and infrastructure. ACI A distributor that works with all the working parts in the initiative we are proud supporters of this commitment.
